My prints explore the integral connection between place and the human condition; in particular the scarring and subsequent healing of the landscape. When producing my work I divide my time between working on site, a mix of sketching and printmaking; and developing ideas back in my studio. The outside work has the excitement and vigorous marks that are a result of an emotional and visual response to place. Rapidly changing light and weather conditions require me to work quickly, forcing me to focus on the essential details.
