The Artist - Brian Steele

Brian started his working life in a commercial art studio in Birmingham. He followed this to be a designer in a badge manufacturing company. He then changed direction and worked for many years in Community education. Throughout his career he has utilised his artistic talent to stimulate and encourage others. His interests have covered painting, cartooning, ceramics and latterly three dimensional sculptures. He has been tutoring ceramic/pottery groups in Plymouth for the past 20years. His current exhibits have focused on birds and figures that invariably contain a humorous touch. He has often referred to his work as 3D cartoons. Brian says that the creative process should be fun and believes that most people have a hidden talent and this can emerge with the right encouragement and training
