Steve Robinson works in kiln-formed glass, using techniques he has developed as a professional artist since graduating in Glass from the University of Wolverhampton as a mature student in the 1990s. In 2010 he was awarded the Gold Prize for Glass in the Craft and Design Magazine awards, and he is a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the Crafts Council Directory of Makers. Steve creates not only works for gardens, but also indoor sculptures, backlit panels, wall hangings and architectural features. “Glass is my passion. I am drawn by its visual appeal, which for me lies in the combination of colour, transparency, light and air. I specialise in the use of enamels, which I fire inside the glass and sometimes on the surface too, to create tactile and vibrant pieces.
