The Artist - Ed Hill
Each piece of art requires my close attention: When placing the head; positioning the eye; creating the frame. Accuracy is key when welding, as a mistake costs me valuable time and energy to resolve. I hold the essence of the animal in my head, and take quick glances at photos and working drawings. The methods I use have developed with time and have enabled me to gradually improve the quality and ambition of my designs. All my materials are sourced from Plymouth and surrounding South Devon. So, you never know, the cutlery you donated to the charity shop might be in one of my sculptures today. 2019 was an exciting year as I featured on BBC Spotlight in January. Iím hoping this year will be too, having recently moved into a studio at The Clay Factory, Redlake Trading Estate, Ivybridge.
