Beach treasure, fossils, semi-precious stones and textured stained glass in a reclaimed slate sculpture
The Artist - Stacey Beaumont
Abstract concepts and the moors and seascapes near my workshop on the Cornish coast all provide inspiration for my sculpture. I primarily use Delabole slate for its beauty, character and durability. I love the effect of light through glass as it changes with the time of day and seasons, transforming static installations into works that are responsive and dynamic within their environments. Most of my slate is reclaimed and, through various processes, becomes very tactile to engage more than just the visual senses. Each sculpture is unique - while themes may be revisited and developed, works cannot be replicated.
