The Artist - Anne-Marie Moss SWS
I came to sculpture after a career as propmaker in London and the South East in 1991 because of my love of carving and modelling. Most of my work is based on the human form and is often emotive. The stone is carved in a way that entices the viewer to engage with the senses, drawing attention to some areas and simplifying others. Ideas are formed from Westcountry stone and more recently Alabaster and marble. I have more than one project on the go at a time to avoid getting stuck and aiming to keep the work fresh; often stone is out on the bench weeks before I begin to carve. The work develops through working with that particular stone shape and type. With the abstract pieces I work the stone direct. I love to work in this way and feel it has an impact on my more figurative work. My studio is now in Buckfastleigh viewing by appointment. I run weekly sculpture classes for adults. I exhibit nationally and work to commission. Insta; #annemariemoss1 Facebook: Anne-Marie Moss- Sculpture.
