The Annual Walk
The Artist - Geoffrey Vaughan ARMS
A Herefordian, after a military career primarily in the Middle East, I studied classical art and techniques. By accident, after being contracted to produce a series of murals themed archaic, abstract and Hellenic, I became an abstractionist. Over time, however, I returned to representational art with a range of diverse subjects from Venice to wild life and whatever inspires in between. As to style I tend to allow the subject to decide, some may be alla prima, others impressionistic or highly detailed and multi-glazed; I may do the whole painting with a palette knife or the very finest sable. I have exhibited widely, in the UK, France, Spain and Cyprus and paintings hang in many collections home and abroad, and am an elected Associate of the Royal Miniature Society.
