From the Wild Garden

Born in the West Country oil painter Debbie Coles now lives on the stunning Jurassic Coast in East Devon, a constant source of inspiration for her plein air practice.  She paints quickly in oils to capture the light and a sense of place.   Painting from her studio, as seen in her piece ‘From the Wild Garden’ she depicts the evolving seasons in still life, from the emergence of spring bulbs, summer roses, autumnal fruits and winter berries.  Rhythm and harmony of colour, light, movement, and creating a painterly visual language with a keen eye on composition are constant threads running through her work.   Debbie has exhibited widely including RAMM Exeter, Thelma Hulbert Honiton, The Mall Galleries London and her work is held in private collections across many continents.
