The Artist - Jo Hague
Jo lives in Cornwall. She studied textile design at Falmouth University and graduated in 2019. She designs and makes 3D sculptural hanging artworks that can be used as decorative screens, room dividers or backdrops. These are, ideally, suited for indoor or outdoor sheltered spaces with an emphasis on natural and artificial light casting intriguing shadows. She is inspired by nature within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Her creations are handcrafted from found objects that tell a story, generally, industrial materials which are then salvaged and repurposed to make light weight, unique pieces. A few of the materials that you will find in Jo’s creations are geotextile matting, woven scaffolding and garden netting with rPET threads which are made of plastic bottles. No two artworks are the same. She prides herself on working with trusted environmentally conscious techniques and designs and makes for people who care about the planet and makes the most of resources. She believes in helping to keep plastics and other materials out of landfills, oceans and the air that we breathe to contribute to a better circular economy.
