Tairona

Sandra Camargo was born in Colombia. She is a self-taught stone sculptor. She works with traditional hand-carving tools, rejecting mass-production and consumerism. The dialect of her work is of shape and form and light; how the light travels through stone or impacts the surface, and how the negative space modifies or becomes a part of the work. Her work has been selected for exhibitions at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, Royal Cambrian Academy in Wales. She also took part in Creating Spaces 2022 at the garden of Miserden 2022, and has exhibited in St Ives, London and Deal.
