Lincolnshire Longhorns

The Devon countryside and its animals provide inspiration for my pastel and acrylic paintings. My first love is the cows on the many farms that I have visited and I can often be found walking the cattle lines at agricultural shows and recording the county's prize livestock. I love the way pastel pencils can achieve fur and feather effects, but also enjoy working on larger and longer canvases with acrylics. I am mostly self taught having developed my style since retiring from teaching ten years ago and I enjoy the challenges of depicting groups of animals and birds in their natural settings.
