Shaugh Prior

Over the years Sheila has been attracted to many different aspects of textile art, but has more recently honed acquired skills into creating more fanciful dry needle-felted works. These powerful depictions incorporate an assortment of fabrics and hand-dyed fibres and threads,  utilising where feasible, repurposed materials. Although a cliched statement, inspiration is so very easily drawn from Devon’s natural beauty – land, sea and sky present an irresistible palette of rich, warm and vibrant tones. Sheila is a member of Westcountry Embroiderers & Textilers (Totnes), South Hams Art Forum (SHAF) and the Kingsbridge art group (KASHAC), having exhibited numerously at various venue throughout the South West.  In addition, she has hosted several workshops which have, in turn, helped fellow textile artists develop their skills.
