Gig Girls on the Tamar

Simon’s studio overlooks the River Tamar, which is reflected in many of his paintings. Whilst completing a career in the Army he found time to get the brushes out; being a 'soldier and painter' worked well with deployments to trouble spots providing masses of painting opportunities. A nomadic lifestyle led to sketching in ink and painting in watercolour becoming the norm. His travels stimulated interest in light, colour, form and perspective. He’s now often found painting around the southwest enjoying the coastline and landscape. Simon has won awards at the Patchings Artist Magazine annual Exhibition and at the Mall Galleries in London.
