While the Cat's Away...

Brian started his working life in a publicity firm in Birmingham. Initially training as a commercial artist and later as a heraldic designer. He then escaped from Birmingham to work in community education. Throughout his career he has utilised his artistic talent to stimulate and encourage others. His interests have covered painting, cartooning, ceramics and latterly three dimensional sculptures. He has been tutoring a ceramic/pottery group in Plymouth for the past 18 years. His current exhibits have focused on birds and animals usually with a humorous touch. He has often referred to his work as three dimensional cartoons. Brian says that the creative process should be fun and believes that most people can find hidden talent if given the right encouragement and training.
