Kim Watkins lives happily in South Devon with her husband and rescued dog. She spent most of her life as a staff nurse and teaching assistant before deciding ten years ago to follow her dream of being a full-time artist. Ten years on, Kim continues to “channel her inner Womble” by recognising the beauty in items considered disposable by most, creating engaging, nostalgic pictures from recycled paper and card. These are juxtaposed and sewn into colourful contrasting designs which tell a story not just through the resulting image, but through the raw materials themselves. She gains inspiration from living in a rural environment which is close to the sea.
