Yawls at Sunset

I’m an artist who loves to draw, paint and carve. For this collection (Orbs of Light), my inspiration was favourite walks in Devon woodlands throughout the four seasons. The seasons were painted with acrylic paint using multi-coloured and layered “orbs” depicting light as it falls through the canopies of these Devon Woodland Scenes. The locations of each painting are spiritual and calm places; Court Woods (Newton Ferrers), Orchard Farm (Flete Estate-Mothecombe), and Puslinch Woods (Yealmpton). The paintings, which are incredibly meticulous, rather anchored me in a place of serene methodology, and began to feel more like a deep meditative state rather than a conscious application of paint on a canvas. I hope you can feel that mindful calm, when you look at them!
