The Artist - Ed Hill SWSTake a closer look at these sculptures, because they are handmade from recycled stainless steel. They are a celebration of the life that is on our doorstep here in the South Hams. My workshop is situated in Ermington village and I get my inspiration from the conversations I have with others about the wildlife we enjoy seeing. The sculpting process begins by studying lots of photos, making models and metal prototypes. The style is suggestive, a balance between realism and minimalism. Look for the hidden details on the cutlery that make each sculpture unique. The repurposed metal shines with a spirit of renewal and honours that which it recreates. They can catch and play with the light throughout the day and bring life to a dark or otherwise uninteresting part of a garden. | |
