Louis studied Architecture & Fine Arts at Cambridge University and ran architectural photography alongside practising as an architect. Later he returned to landscape photography, which has been his passion since childhood. He has exhibited widely in Southwest England, including at the Royal West of England Academy and the Southwest Academy of Fine and Applied Arts, of which he is an Academician; his photography is in many private collections. He is inspired by the fine patterning of the landscape, the ever-changing light effects in Devon’s countryside, and by the abstract and graphic shapes of landform and flora, sometimes best expressed in black-and-white images.
