The Artist - Jamie Lord
Jamie Lord is an award-winning wildlife sculptor and modelmaker inspired by the quiet power and fragile balance of the natural world. His work seeks to capture not just likeness, but the spirit and individuality of each subject, creating sculptures that feel alive and emotionally present. Working across a wide range of materials, Jamie begins each sculpture in clay before moulding and casting in metal or stone. Meticulously crafted details, including individually cut and painted paper feathers, are built layer by layer, blending realism, storytelling, and precision. Having lived in the Cotswolds and Spain, and through first-hand study of animals in their natural habitat, most recently during a research trip to Kenya, Jamie draws inspiration directly from the wild. Conservation is central to his practice, with his work celebrating wildlife while highlighting its vulnerability and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
