George Hider is a self-taught artist working for the last 26 years from his Somerset workshop. A pioneer for the use of scrap metal in art, his ability to create lifelike sculptures has evolved from dedication and a natural talent. He is painstaking in the preparation of the raw material he finds, totally immersed in the creative construction of each piece, and fastidious in the final finish. His motivation is his passion to create warm, realistic forms from cold metal - and for people to enjoy his work.
