The Artist - Bea Green

Bea Green’s Environmental ceramic sculptures draw inspiration from her gardening observations and love of natural forms. Recently returned to Devon, she noticed CLIMATE CHANGE effects were reducing our DAYLIGHT LEVELS, emphasising our need TO CONSIDER OTHERS. This led to “The Enlighteners” sculptures who remind each of us to look twice or three times at our lifestyles and to consider how these can be changed to save our planet, e.g. reducing our use of all petroleum-based products. The extensive range of intermixable, stoneware Engobe colours developed by Bea are suitable for life outdoors or indoors. Bea studied Ceramics and Painting to degree level. Her work in Ceramics for over 25 years included international clientele aged 5-92. Her sculptures are owned in private & public sites across Europe, New Zealand and in Japan’s Tajimi Museum. She has had articles published, including in Ceramic Review and she contributed to Anne Lightwood’s “Paperclay” book.
