The Artist - Sonia McNally and Tim Fuge
Sonia McNally (b. 1973, UK) First-Class BA (Hons) in Fine Art. Over three decades, she has exhibited widely in the UK, internationally and completed major commissioned works. Her practice explores the threshold between the visible and invisible, uniting observation and imagination. Working extensively with motifs associated with the sacred and the feminine, she creates across painting, glass and object-making. With 15 years in set building, costume and props, she brings a strong problem-solving approach, shaped by a background in a family of engineers. McNally combines artistry with conceptual symbolism to give form to contemporary mythic narratives.
Tim Fuge (b. 1986, UK) an award-winning lead worker with over 20 years’ experience creating sculpture and decorative architectural leadwork in historic and contemporary contexts. His practice draws on traditional techniques of casting and bossing, developed through training and professional mastery in lead craftsmanship. Passionate about the expressive potential of lead, he brings structural knowledge and surface innovation together to reimagine lead through a contemporary aesthetic lens. As well as delivering significant commissions in his field, Fuge increasingly expands into creative forms, using his craftmanship skill to produce artworks that celebrate the physical and symbolic power of lead.
